Если учесть, что у нас и у них в это время будут праздники, реально посмотреть и потрогать желающие смогут эти пластины не раньше февраля 2005 г.

KPG's VioletNews plate targeted at deadline driven newspaper applications
Amsterdam, Netherlands: Kodak Polychrome Graphics (KPG) has announced that its first plate for use in violet platesetters will be launched early in 2005.
The VioletNews plate, unveiled at this week's IfraExpo newspaper exhibition in Amsterdam, Netherlands, is a violet photopolymer plate for newspapers. Currently in beta-testing at newspapers in Europe and North America, the VioletNews plate is manufactured at KPG's state of the art plant in Osterode, Germany. The plate will be released in the first quarter of next year, initially in Europe but closely followed by North America, Latin America and Asia.
The VioletNews plate is a negative-working (write the image), high-speed plate for deadline-driven newspaper applications, combining ease-of-use, consistency and low maintenance. Resolution is 2 to 98% at up to 175 lpi and run-lengths of up to 200,000 copies. Other key specifications include fast imaging speed, handling in yellow safelight environments and low chemistry usage.
"We have been evaluating violet from early on, assessing not only what it can offer but what KPG can add that would set our product apart from our competitors," said Jeff Jacobson, Chief Executive Officer, KPG. "We don't enter markets with 'me too' products, and the VioletNews plate is no exception. At IfraExpo - on stand 0720 in Hall 1 - KPG is demonstrating the VioletNews plate on platesetters from Krause and ECRM. Platesetters from other manufacturers are being evaluated ahead of next year's launch.
KPG has also confirmed that a violet photopolymer plate for commercial CtP applications will be launched later in 2005.
